Victoria is the Associate General Counsel for cybersecurity and privacy at Shopify, where she is responsible for providing strategic legal advice across the company’s global operations on cybersecurity strategy, regulatory compliance, and the responsible use of AI. She works closely with product, engineering, and development teams to help them navigate evolving legal frameworks while enabling secure and innovative product development.
Before joining Shopify, Victoria managed Microsoft’s Digital Crimes Unit for the Americas, where she directed cross-border teams and partnered with governments to combat cyber threats and shape policy.
Victoria is a Certified Privacy Manager (CIPM) and Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) by the IAPP. Prior to practicing law, Victoria was an industrial engineer in the technology and automotive sectors and a competitive figure skater.
Victoria has been recognized globally for her expertise and leadership in cybersecurity as well as her efforts to support women, especially Latinas, in the legal and security industries.
Tom spent twelve years working in the power generation industry as a Project Manager and lead engineer on steam turbine repair and replacement projects. He then attended law school and after receiving his law degree spent eighteen years as an associate and partner at a large general practice law firm that included a large IP department. Tom went In-house with Siemens Energy in 2018 and have now spent seven years doing IP preparation and prosecution as well as licensing, contract drafting, and IP management for various business segments within Siemens Energy.

He is an appointee Conciliator of the Kingdom of Spain and the Panel of Arbitrators and Conciliators of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes of the World Bank (ICSID).
