E-Lex was founded by Guido Scorza (currently one of the Commissioner of the Italian Data Protection Authority), Giovanni Maria Riccio, Ernesto Belisario and Dario Reccia.

Studio Legale E-Lex, in particular, provides its clients with out-of-court and judicial assistance and consultancy in the field of technology law to leading private companies and public bodies.
The partners of the law firm are often involved in legislative drafting activities, through political appointments, on IT and IP sectors and offer study and research services for lobbying activities. Furthermore, E-Lex is a partner of several projects funded by the European Commission, mainly dealing with the data protection aspects of these projects.
